Claire volunteers for a botanical demonstration, only to discover the Martian Pod-Vine requires a human host for its aggressive reproductive cycle. She becomes its subject, undergoing intense physical changes before being left incapacitated. When a subsequent experiment with a galactic Holothurn goes awry, the professor is left seeking yet another assistant.
