By page 25, she is shattered and dependent on alcohol, and in the following pages, Takatoshi implants the twisted concept of “maternal duty,” framing the sexual initiation of her son as an obligation. Hatsumi’s grip on reality dissolves as she projects this perverse logic onto Yu, subjecting him to invasive sexual acts while rationalizing the abuse as responsible parenting, culminating in a complete breakdown where she forces him into an incestuous encounter.
