The Code Breaker (Veronica Kane)

The Code Breaker is set in Watertown, five years after "The Crimes of Clark Stuart". It is a tricky story as it involves, as the title suggests, code breaking. Our disturbed antagonist, Clark Stuart, has returned from his work helping the export whiskey from Europe and the Caribbean. So is Polly Stevens, the policewoman. New is Virginia Stevens, the titular character of the story. The Scarlet Avenger will also appear, in the guise of Scarlet Patterson. She is at the crossroads of her time as the Scarlet Avenger.
